Four days before the start of critical global climate change negotiations in Copenhagen, forward thinking companies from the North West have been invited to Downing Street to showcase how the UK's low carbon innovation and partnership are already shaping business for the future economy.

Among 100 companies gathering in Downing Street on Thursday evening who have embraced the low carbon economy will be leading-edge methane storage manufacturers, Kirk Environmental from Nelson, Lancashire, and creators of graphics visualisations, 3D Web Technologies from Altrincham, Cheshire.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown said: "Our transition to a low carbon economy will be a key driver of our future economic prosperity. Kirk Environmental and 3D Web Technologies are at the forefront of this transformation..."

3dw have been instrumental in helping Coronation Power secure the go ahead from the Governments Planning Inspectorate to build two wind farms in the North West. Crook Hill two miles north of Rochdale in Greater Manchester, and Reaps Moss, near Bacup in Lancashire. The wind farms will provide clean energy for over 22,500 homes.

3dw have been working closely with Coronation for over three years, producing detailed 3d models of all their sites, the models were used successfully at public exhibitions and planning meetings to help all stakeholders understand the possible visual impact of the wind farms.

New software release: New release brings host of new cutting edge features to help keep 3DW at the forefront of interactive 3D Visualisation.

Topaz - New software release: Having worked closely with the developers of a new 3D modelling package, 3DW have entered into an agreement to provide sales and support services for Topaz 3D throughout the UK.This software release represents a significant step forward in the levels of visual fidelity and funcionality which can be achieved in real-time applications.Please look at the software section for more information about this exciting new product.

Interactive DVD: 3DW have produced an interactive DVD showcasing all the regeneration work completed in Blackburn and Darwen, 3D graphics were supplemented with live footage of over 10 regeneration areas in Blackburn and Darwen, the DVD was presented to all local ward councillors enabling them to take "virtual" tour of the area.

Cobalt Housing: 3DW were approached by Cobalt housing to help consult them better consult with residents on proposed changes to their estate. 3DW produced an interactive 3D model of the area showing the planned changes to residents flats, the residents were able to toggle through various options before choosing their preferred option.

Resident Choice Application Update: 3DW have updated their award winning residents choice application for Irwell Valley Housing Association to include exterior choices. Residents can now select and view different fence, wall and hedge options for their property.

Business Excellence Awards:Lloyds Building London 3DW produced an innovative and fully interactive presentation for the Plus Dane Housing Group which was very well received at the Business Excellence Awards.
